HOW Interactive Design, a division of HOW, seeks to educate designers on how to effectively design for the web. We aim to be a comprehensive web design education center, focusing on technology, inspiration and current design topics.
Founded in 1985, the HOW brand began its life as a print magazine. Today, the brand still includes an award-winning magazine, but has grown to encompass a host of products and events created to serve the business, creativity and technology needs of graphic designers, whether they work for a design firm, for an in-house creative department or for themselves. Who We Are
Bridgid McCarren Design Community Content Director, HOW + Print
Bridgid joined the HOW team in 2007 as art director. She has since served as a senior art director for HOW magazine and a content director for HOW Interactive Design. Currently, Bridgid is content director for the design community, which includes both HOW andPrint. These two brands are dedicated to providing inspiration and information to designers through a variety of mediums, including magazines, websites, design books, online products, competitions, events and more. Bridgid is always on the move, whether traveling, speaking, teaching or hitting the trails with her two- and four-legged race partners.
Erin Prus, HOWID Editor + Content Director
As the content director for HOW Interactive Design, Erin found the right blend of creative, innovative and academic. Her background includes writing, teaching and editing — ranging from healthcare to software, spanning print to digital media. Intersecting all industries is Erin’s passion for people, and she’s especially fond of designers —making the HOW community an ideal fit for her. When she’s away from the pen and page, you’ll find Erin collaborating with a much smaller creative at home or burying her nose in a novel.
Patrick McNeil is a freelance writer, web developer, design lover and the creator of DesignMeltdown.com. He has diverse interests that have merged technology and design, resulting in work that touches everything from high design to hard-core programming. Ultimately his love for design, inspiration, and sharing knowledge has fueled his passion for running Design Meltdown and writing his bestselling book series The Web Designer’s Idea Book(s). Patrick is also the Content Director for the HOW Interactive Design blog and community.
