Tomorrow (Feb 3) is the early bird deadline for HOW Design Live 2015 in Chicago (May 4-8) and you may have noticed that the word “freelance” is gone from the entire event. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean CFC is gone – it’s just evolved into something better.
Many of you objected to the word “freelance” from the beginning and with good cause. It’s taken time for us to expand and integrate the offerings to make sure you still get what you need. That’s been my intention as I programmed my part of the event this year.
So here’s what’s different:
- It’s now called the “Creative Business” program and it’s for anyone running a creative business, from solopreneur (current or aspirational) to small agency owner.
- It’s now offering advanced business sessions, not basics, PLUS we have sessions about how creatives are being creative at the business side of their businesses, like how to turn a service-based business into a product-based one!
- It runs all 4 days, although if you look closely at the schedule, you’ll notice that the first 2 days (Monday & Tuesday) are especially for independent professionals.
- All tickets give you access to anything happening that day. And you won’t want to miss the stellar lineup of keynotes: Tom Peters, Dr. Brene Brown, Simon Sinek, Karim Rashid, Michael Bierut, Paula Scher and Debbie Millman. Plus, you’ll hear from up-and-coming influencers like Tina Roth Eisenberg, Aaron Draplin and Jessica Walsh.
Whether you’re working solo, running an agency, or are summoning the courage to start your own creative business, you’ll find all the resources you need in the Creative Business program. So I hope you’ll join me this May in Chicago.
