This Friday (3/2): tax questions answered via Twitter

Just to keep things new and interesting, as part of our interview series with this year’s speakers at the Creative Freelancer Conference, we’re doing “Twitter-views” (interviews via Twitter).

First up, this Friday, March 2 at 4:30 PM Eastern, is Martin Kamenski, of Rockstar CPA, who will be fielding tax questions — just in time, since taxes are due soon!

It’s free, of course. All you have to do to participate is …..use to follow this hashtag (#CFCchat) and/or make sure you’re following me (@MMToolbox) this Friday.

Also, please submit your questions here and we’ll make sure they get answered.

Hi Ilise, I’d like to ask Martin a question regarding the benefits of being set up as an S-Corp vs. an LLC or Sole Proprietor. I’m currently an S-Corp based on the strong recommendation of my CPA who says that it’s worth it in order to save on self-employment tax, which can be substantial. But it also makes me dependent on outside accounting services, which is also a substantial expense, for my quarterly reports and year-end tax prep.

    Thanks very much!
