“‘Inert objects—and people—lose their charm pretty quickly. It’s hard to be inspired by something that never changes. So get moving. Never stand still. Gain momentum. Feel free to start small—once you begin, it’ll be easy to keep going.’
“Believe it or not, the above quote is in a college search piece that the International Design Awards judges hailed as the 2011 Best of Show winner. The two-part mailer targeted highschoolers, and throughout the oversized newsprint, the text speaks intimately and honestly about the anxiety and nervousness teens may feel about their futures. It dispels notions about “having it all figured out,” and celebrates discovery, uncertainty and the momentum of change. It doesn’t feel like the typical college mailer.”
