Kinard began her career as a traditional designer/illustrator—several years before Apple revolutionized the field of graphic design. Her initial reaction to the Macintosh was fear and loathing. However, she discovered quickly that she had a natural talent for technology and soon began teaching ad agencies and design firms how to use their newly purchased Macs. After 18 years in print design, she taught herself web and interactive design; she’s currently a creative director with Interactive Knowledge, which creates rich-media websites for cultural institutions and nonprofits. www.interactiveknowledge.com
