HOW Logo Design Awards

A logo is one of the most important aspects of any business, and most designers have spent a fair share of time creating effective, cool logo designs for clients. HOW Logo Design Competition & Awards began in 2008 and quickly erupted as a prestigious contest that recognizes great logo design. Check below for details on the IDENTITY APPLICATIONS category—new this year and doubles your chances of winning!

20 Winners (ten from each of the two categories) & 2 Readers’ Choice winners (one from each of the two categories) will be recognized.

HOW will notify the 20 winners by September 30, 2015, after judging is complete. Dates for the online gallery will be announced at that time.

 

Judges

Lippincott senior partner in design Rodney Abbot is the judge of this year’s Logo Design Awards. He has extensive expertise in creating visual identity programs that translate brand strategy into expression and experience. Having been at Lippincott for 20 years, he’s created numerous identity and environmental design programs for a diverse range of clients including Dell, IBM, Infiniti, Nissan and Sprint. Abbot’s work has been featured in leading design publications and books, and he’s received numerous awards.

Categories

NEW THIS YEAR: As important as the logo design itself is the application of the logo. That’s why in 2015 we’re adding an IDENTITY APPLICATIONS category that will allow you to show off anything created in conjunction with a logo— business cards, letterheads, signage, websites, T-shirts, stamps, packaging, tote bags, other products, interactive elements, animated GIFs and more.

Enter your logo, and you’ll then have the option of entering the Identity Applications category as well at a discounted rate. Our judge, Lippincott’s Rodney Abbot, will be choosing 10 winners from each category, so entering both categories doubles your chances of winning!

LOGOS: symbols, word marks, lockups, etc.

IDENTITY APPLICATIONS*: anything created in conjunction with a logo, e.g., business cards, letterheads, signage, websites, T-shirts, stamps, packaging, tote bags, other products, interactive elements, animated GIFs and more.

How to Enter

  • All logos must be submitted online by 11:59 pm EST on July 3, 2015.
  • The image size of the file must not exceed 1280 x 1024 pixels.
  • The image can be saved at a resolution that will enable us to zoom in to see details during judging, but the file size must not exceed 5MB. File formats: .gif, .jpeg, .png, .pdf; preferably in RGB color mode.
  • Credit all persons involved in the creation of the piece. HOW isn’t responsible for incorrect, illegible or incomplete credit information.
  • Student work is accepted.
  • Submitted work must have been released between January 1, 2014 and the final competition deadline.
  • Enter your logo, and you’ll then have the option of entering the Identity Applications category as well for just $20 more. Our judge will be choosing 10 winners from each category, so entering both categories doubles your chances of winning.
