Think creatively about the wild, unexpected new markets you could get into or the future-friendly services you could offer. What client needs do you see coming in the next three to five years that others aren’t focused on? This, I think, solves the problem of the “limited time” question.

I love this, and some great quotes too. I think we all, as independents and freelancers, go through that struggle with the “realness” and legitimacy, especially when the paycheck doesn’t necessary line up with the hours spent on the business. I’m in the process of growing my 3rd business (as a freelance illustrator), and I go through this with it. Mostly because most of my time is focused on the other two businesses, so sometimes the creative work feels less “real”. Thanks for sharing!
