Designer: Antonio Rodrigues Jr.
Location: Asa Sul, Brazil
About the face: Berlin is a work in progress (though you can hardly tell because it’s already so comprehensive). The typeface was created when Antonio Rodrigues and his colleague Mark started working on the Mr. Red’s redesign. Berlin and it’s family (Berlina, Slaberlin and Überlin) are perfect for headlines, packaging, branding and much more. Rodrigues says the typeface is free for personal and commercial use as a “thank you to every and each of you who have been so supportive of [his] work.” But he’s also accepting donations on his website, so give as your heart desires!
As a PS, Rodrigues adds: “They have been named after a song from R.E.M.’s latest album, which I was listening to over and over while working on the first versions of the main characters,” which is just a fun little fact!

We’re accepting entries for the In-House Design Awards! We want to recognize the best creative work produced by designers doing in-house work for corporations, associations and organizations. From corporate identity, sales collateral, point-of-purchase displays, employee communication, membership materials and more, this premiere awards program shines a spotlight on an under-represented segment of the design industry.
