As you may have known, we ran our first-ever Instagram contest at HOW Design Live this year! Users entered by submitting photos with hashtag #HOWMoments, and we selected winners based on visual appeal, creativity, and general HOW awesomeness!
It was definitely a challenge choosing the best photos from all of the amazing HOW Moments we saw, but we managed to pull out one that really lived up to the spirit and excitement of HOW Design Live.
Without further ado, I’m pleased to announce the winner of the 2015 HOW Design Live Instagram Contest:
This photo collage was created and posted by Lynnette Pope, Senior Art Director at Porchlight! Appearing in the photo, from left to right, are: John-Paul Moore, Owner of JP Designs Art, Atlanta (@jpdesignsart on Instagram); Lynnette Pope, Senior Art Director at Porchlight, Atlanta (@atlboogie); Deivid Valdez, Senior Graphic Designer at Bronx Community College, Bronx, NY (@deivid_valdez); and Brittany Davis, Marketing Assistant and Designer at UNC Charlotte, Charlotte, NC (@brittdavis704).
In addition, these two images by Jenna Blazevich and Emily Chee (respectively) tied for a close second:
Since I can't put into words how moving @brenebrown's talk at HOW was yesterday (words are very hard), I'll happily share hers: "the most willing to lean into discomfort will rise the fastest". In combination with Kevin Spacey's quote from @swissmiss's talk to "send the elevator back down", my stomach almost hurts with how inspired I am by both women. Thank you! #howmoment @howbrand #thedailytype #goodtype #lettering

What really excited me this morning is being familiar with the design and then hearing directly from the designer. Legendary designer, Paula Scher designed the wall that has become the identity for The National Center for Civil & Human Rights in Atlanta! She created it from posters! And now there is an app for it! @crt4chr! #HOWLive #HOWDesignLive #HOWmoments @howbrand
