The Creative Professional’s Guide to Money by Ilise Benun

Categories: Editor's Picks, HOW Books: Exclusive Excerpts & Design Book Reviews Tags: .

Creative Professional's Guide to MoneyI love this book because it breaks down the sometimes-complicated, sometimes-stressful business of talking about and managing money into small actionable items. Ilise’s writing style is friendly, straightforward and honest. In fact, I think the best thing about this book is that she gives you actual phrases to use when talking with clients about money: She is able to take the emotion out of the conversation, so that you are simply running your business in the most professional way possible, and becoming as profitable as you can be. This book is a wealth of information for anyone who needs to deal with “the business side” of their career—designers, illustrators, writers, copyeditors, etc. Check out a sample chapter from the book here!
