Meet Fearless Design Icon Debbie Millman in D.C.

The first stop in our three-city HOW Interactive Conference series is right around the corner. In typical HOW fashion, we’ve rolled out a superstar program with the likes of Jenn Lukas, Chris Cashdollar and more.

Last week, we announced even more star power: Debbie Millman will keynote the Washington D.C. event, speaking on Thursday, September 4th at 1 PM. If you’ve been debating making your way to the nation’s capital for the most exciting web design event of the year, trust us, you won’t regret it …

Meet Fearless Design Icon Debbie Millman in D.C.

If you know good design, you know Debbie Millman.

Debbie+Header_HIDCHere at HOW, we pride ourselves on bringing you the best of the design world, and if you’ve attended a previous HOW Design Live or HIDC event you know that we don’t disappoint.

Debbie Millman is the quintessential design hero. Prolific writer, speaker and overall inspiration in the industry at large. She’s the President of Sterling Brands, host of Design Matters, and author of two books: Brand Thinking and Other Noble Pursuits and Self-Portrait as Your Traitor.

How do I know this, you ask? Because the HOW crew was fortunate enough to dine with this talented visionary at the 2013 HOW Design Live event in San Francisco. Intimidated? Maybe at first, but all of my jitters quickly melted away upon talking with herShe’s the kind of superstar you want to hang out with: sweet, smart, witty and unassuming.

Debbie Millman

Debbie Millman is someone to behold. There’s something magical about her – she’s sincere and self-reflective, apparent in her presence and her investment in meaningful projects, like the NO MORE Project.

There’s obviously a lot about Debbie Millman to be moved by (like her great taste in literature, for example). When we asked what motivated her to plan the 2013 HOW Leadership Conference, this was her reply:

I was inspired by a remarkable quote from David Foster Wallace that reads, in part, “Deep down, you almost always like how a real leader makes you feel, the way you find yourself working harder and pushing yourself and thinking in ways you couldn’t ever get to on your own.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to be reinvigorated by the true leaders of the web design world. Join me and get some serious face time with Debbie Millman, one of the most fearless designers on the planet.

Plus: Every HIDC attendee gets 5 free online web design courses (worth nearly $1,000), free!
