HOW Design Live’s programming team continues to add new speakers and session information to the lineup for the event in May. In case you missed it, here are a few notable recent additions:
Amanda Palmer has been called fearless: a musician-artist-writer whose work explodes the traditional boundaries of art, media and culture. What’s more, Palmer has an uncanny ability to connect with her fans. Her 2013 TEDTalk has been viewed more than 6 million times, and it’s since been developed into a best-selling book, “The Art of Asking.” Palmer just signed on as closing keynote presenter for HOW Design Live.
Onstage in conversation with Maria Popova of Brain Pickings, she will talk about her work, about her connections with fans through social media, and about the not-so-simple task of realizing when you need someone’s help and asking for it. You know Popova as an avid reader and writer whose Brain Pickings is a must-read for creative professionals.
Mimi Valdés has joined the program as a keynote speaker on May 7. is a multimedia executive with more than 20 years’ experience. As the creative director/VP for Pharrell Williams and his company, i am OTHER, she’s responsible for overseeing everything from music videos to film endeavors. She’s a passionate content creator who believes the art of storytelling should entertain, educate and inspire humanity.
Sem Devillart helps top companies, non-governmental organizations and high-profile individuals design effective strategies and winning product concepts, based on a deep understanding of human psychology and socio-cultural trends. She is co-founder and managing partner at Popular Operations, which offers high-level trend analysis, planning and system design practices to the growing social sector.
Mary Zalla will speak on the future of packaging as part of The Dieline program. She is global president of consumer brands for Landor Associates and head of the agency’s Cincinnati and Chicago offices. She focuses on developing Landor’s consumer branding practice.
Marina Willer, partner in the London office of Pentagram, will join her colleague Paula Scher and a roster of top European creatives to talk about global design trends.
