Wedding Invitations - Price & Process ?

Postby PixelKoi » December 20th, 2011, 12:32 pm

Hey guys, does anyone have experience working with the Wedding industry - wedding invitations? I'm looking for advise on pricing and process. :?
Main package I need to price includes:
Invitation + envelope, return card + envelope, map or directions page.

I need to supply few package & pricing options
• How should I charge ?
• What is the average price for this type of design job?
• What is the process: How many samples and how many revisions? Where to draw the line with free revisions and start charging hourly ?
• Here are 5 package options that I need to price but if you have other ideas please suggest
-Text only
-Text + Simple Graphics (squiggles, doodles, line-art vector kinda curves etc) these would be stock vectors
-Text + Illustration (Original Ink or Watercolor)
-Text + Illustration (Original Vector)
-Text + Illustration (Original Characters Vector or Watercolor)

Thanks ! I would appreciate any feedback, not only from those who are in the wedding industry and elbow deep in bridal stuff ;)
Please let know how much YOU would charge :)

THANK YOU :)

If this were me, I would price this out like I would any other job. I would discuss with the client how many design directions they wanted to see, figure out an estimated amount of time it would take to turn the design around and provide an estimate for the job accordingly. You will want to highlight in your estimate how many hours for revisions is included with the project. How many hours is up to you, but I would definitely highlight it so they are aware of it.

If I read your post correctly, it looked like you were planing to show 5 design directions. In my experience, clients usually glaze over if presented with more than three ideas at a time. You may want to consider a similar approach with this project. Show three.

Hope this is helpful.

The prices may highly vary with the type of printing selected for cards. Visit letterpress invitations to know more of how and what the pricing adds up to.
