I worked many years making tutorials for an important USA online magazine.

I've only used Odesk and am very satisfied with the results. I also hear that Elance is good as well although I've not picked up any jobs through that medium.

As is with any freelance job, one must sift through a lot of underpaid positions in order to find a good one, but Odesk has some reasonable opportunities.
