Very nice. It has a sweet and simple feeling to it. Thanks for sharing! Your church is very blessed to have such a great designer available for what would normally be a Word document printed on Astrobrights.

thanks design_ink and maria. the word doc posters were one of my main inspirations to do this poster. it is also a springboard for me to get back into some personal work and hopefully start some work on the side that will be a good creative outlet.

Hey Jones,

this is really well done. It's nice that you're using your skills for a good cause.

Didn't you say before that you went to Tyler? I am a student there now.

I like it.  It's also got a great texture with the grid paper look to it.  Very nice! Thank you for sharing your work with us!

the jones - that's a great poster!

how did you get your church to agree to let you do a poster?

I love my church but like many churches they have a bad design style. I would like to approach them on the idea of being their designer for bulletins and any event programs and such. Any hints on how to approach them would be awesome.

it wasnt hard at all. actually, for this poster, i just did it, and then brought it in and showed it to everyone and they liked it a lot. I go to a relatively small church, about 80-100 people or so. maybe a little more, and i also play on the worship team. i have been working on redoing the website, and also creating a logo which will end up on the stationary and whatever else we might need.

i would just approach the pastor, and/or the person who is in charge of heading up the programs and mention that you would be interested in promoting some of the events through your work. a way of contributing back to the church. good luck with it.
