"Gummy" stuff that holds magazine inserts in place

Postby Spiffshine » January 14th, 2011, 8:31 am

Can anyone tell me what the rubbery, gummy stuff is called that holds magazine inserts in place without damaging the paper when removed? For example, it was used to hold the 29 Things Young Designers Need to Know poster on page 33 of the January 2011 issue of HOW. Thank you!!

I think I've finally found the answer for anyone who is interested: "Fugitive Glue" or "Glue Dots" seem to be the answer!

When magazines are glued together, it's called "perfect binding". We use a similar glue to that of a glue gun. It needs heat to be put on and cool air to dry.
