Graphic Design Experiment (with reports and prizes)

Postby desgn » July 24th, 2012, 1:38 pm

Hi!

I’m from Carnegie Mellon University, and my research team is recruiting designers to participate in an online design task as part of our graphic design research project. The objective of the task is to design banner ads for a website. The designs that you submit in this study will only be used for research, and not for any commercial purposes.

We hope this study will help designers create impactful designs for their clients and/or firms. We will send a report of the study to all participants once it is available. In addition, we will award three prizes between US$250 and US$600 to the participants who submit the best designs in this study.

We welcome all individuals, regardless of their graphic design experience, to participate in this study. Please go to http://www.desgn.net/rcr/howdesign for more information and to register for the study. There is a limit to the number of participants in this study, so please register early if you are interested. (Important: During the registration process, we will send you an email so that you can confirm and complete your registration. Please check your spam folder if you don’t see the email in your inbox.)

Please contact me if you have any questions.

I received concerns about whether this study is for real (e.g., "is this a scam in disguise?"). If you have questions about the legitimacy of this study, please check with Carnegie Mellon University's Institutional Review Board (IRB) (Email: irb-review@andrew.cmu.edu, Phone: 412-268-1901 or 412-268-5460). The IRB Protocol Number for this study is HS12‐249 (please cite this protocol number in your communication with the IRB so that they know the study that you are referring to).

Let me know if you need any more info.
