Feedback on my Competition Idea

Postby jack016711 » October 28th, 2012, 6:37 am

Hello Everyone,
I'm a graphic/web designer and I run a few small projects that aim to create a community of designers that use their skills to inspire.

I have a competition idea that I'd like some feedback on to enable me to take it forward. The idea in its simplest form is..... I will ask creatives to submit artwork based around a set theme e.g. 'Positivity' The winner will receive a large cash prize. There will be a fee, maybe around £10 to enter but the cash prize will be around 500-1000 to begin with and will grow each month.

If you could answer any of the following questions, you would be helping me out loooooaaads.

1. Would you pay to enter a competition if the incentive was big enough.
2. Are you interested in spare time activities that would give you a creativity workout?
3. Do you produce artwork in your spare time.
4. Are you interested in my idea?
5. Do you have any feedback on my idea? suggestion, comments or improvements?

Thanks everyone,

Jack

Sorry, but there's plenty of these sort of sites already, and in my opinion, its a bad idea. No self respecting designer will pay £10 to enter a competition for a 1% chance to win £1000. These competitions usually attract really low level "designers" and the level of work is usually horrible.

Sorry but I would just forget about the whole idea...
