Do you use web analytics on your website?

Postby missyB » April 18th, 2007, 4:23 pm

Just sheer curiousity, as I see that some people here do and some don't. I use Google's free web analytics on all my websites because it is interesting to see where people come from and how they end up at my websites... eventually I will want to start analyzing the sources and optimizing for SEO purposes.

I also offer this service of setting up analytics to my clients, sort of like an added bonus (I get a "wow, that's cool!"), but charge as usual for set up and stuff.

Extremely curious if you web desigers, especially, use web analytics on their own sites as well as clients.

I use AWStats.  Any client who hosts with me also gets that automatically in their cpanel.

Cool, I didn't know that Google offered web stats, got to check that one out. I use Statcounter both for myself and my clients, it's really neat, but it only logs the last 100 visits unless you want to pay, that's the only downside.

I use a few different tools for my site. For quick analytics viewing I use Mint, for full analytics and demographic breakdown I use Google Analytics, and for feed aggregation data I use Feedburner.

I use Google Analytics on my own site. And I confess to being rather obsessed with the data it generates. (But then again, I'm obsessed with data anyway.)
