A Dose of Caffeine (for the Creative Mind): Week of 8/23/10

What Time is It?
We're all familiar with how to tell time. Big hand, little hand, seconds, minutes, hours, A.M. and P.M. Learning to tell time is a right of passage for any first grader, but what if time doesn't really look like what we think? What if numbers don't best represent time? Your task today is to create an alternative to the modern rotary clock. Consider another method to tracking the passing of time. The only restriction is that you can't use numbers in your new time-tracking method. Better get started, you're running out of time... or are you?

(Will try to shake it up in weeks to come, rather than just take passages from this book [which the authors my not appreciate].  But I thought this would be a good start for a "creative inspiration" series in this forum.)
