Why is it so hard to find a job?

Hey Everyone,
After being a recent college graduate with a Bachelor's in Graphic Design, I'm finding out how hard it really is to land a career job in the field. I would love some feedback on my resume and portfolio. Maybe I'm doing something wrong that I'm not seeing. After my latest project, I thought for sure I would get a job that I love. But still a few months later and nothing.

The latest project I did was create a custom playing card deck which was branded under Bicycle playing cards and printed through The United States Playing Card Company. It was a project I set out to achieve on a personal level. It really was a one man team from designing, packaging, marketing to choosing the card stock and finish. I showed the blue prints of what i wanted, raised enough money to get 2,610 decks printed, and shipped each deck out personally to each person who helped this dream come true. - Self project from start to finish. I teamed up with the world renown United States Playing Card Company to develop "Artist Edition" custom playing cards. 2,610 decks were produced and printed under the Bicycle company name and included custom art work for the: Ace of spades, back design, jokers, court cards, advertisement card and tuck case. 50 rare uncut sheets were also printed for collectors on the market. These playing cards were printed using premium Aristocrat stock and the luxurious Magic Finish.

- Hired as a visual translator for a Chinese manufacturer. Redesigned, modeled and rendered magician coins which would be later be manufactured using my 3D mold. These coins have been mass produced and can be purchased online through the same company that David Blaine and Criss Angel uses for their tv shows.

- Selected winner of Dowling’s first ever poster contest. This contest was only for students majoring in Graphic Design and the final poster was used for the campus open house. Students attending the open house were able to take a glimpse of what Dowling had to offer for enrolling students.
