When scanning a section, the first thing a consumer recognises is colour. Good examples of brands that own a colour, to block and project them on shelf, are Cadbury with their trademark purple and Old El Paso’s vibrant yellow.

It's the finish of the year. And as we Are all aware, next year is supposedly the finish of the world . Now while everyone has their own theories on how the world will finish, gifted photographer Tejal Patni turns things around optimistically as they believes every finish leads to a new beginning. They takes this idea of new beginnings to conceptualize a calendar for fashion brand Splash. Heavily influenced by B-movie sci-fi cliches, the calendar asks: are they destined to revisit our same life choices, or will they truly generate a new beginning?

Keep in mind also that your logo should look good on all kinds of media, in B&W, and it shouldn't have more than 2-3 colors as a rule. Don't be afraid to suggest radically distinctive yet (still) simple designs.

Also make sure the logo communicates without any text. Nationwide Insurance failed at this, because if you take off the text it looks like a logo for Polaroid.

For me, your logo will represent the business you're in. It's like your logo is your site's ID. For me, the logo should be:
~ simple yet captivating. It does not need to be very complicated. The "Apple" logo is one example. It is so simple that the logo became an instant hit and well-remembered by people.
~ try to have a nice color combination. For me, a logo with just 2 colors like black and red is better than a logo with LOTS of colors. Try not to make your logo so extravagant and "too" colorful
~ be creative. never make it a habit to copy somebody else's logo! make sure to have a healthy competition, thus, be creative when designing your logo.
I also found a good read about how important a logo is. There are also some tips on how to make one, maybe this article might help: http://www.webhostingsearch.com/blog/th ... -logo-1003

PS:
You can also look for some companies who offer cheap logo design services, or ask for their advice. :geek:

The main and important tip is that your logo should describe your business and there should be meaning in it because it is your business ambassador.
