What size screen is suitable for modern day designers?

Postby Hatton92 » September 25th, 2010, 8:49 am

Hey,

I am looking to purchase a new laptop however I do not know what the recommended size of design space on the monitor is required as a modern day graphic designer.

What is the biggest size screen a laptop can have? I done a google search and it stopped at about 22 inches.

Thanks,

Hatton

If you want a big screen, why not just get a desktop or a display to hook up to your laptop? A 22" laptop screen just seems strange to me...and a bit cumbersome to carry around. I have a 15" mbp, and a 24" iMac.

Hey actually laptop is use for mobility and if any laptop have more the 22'" display then its big problem to use and carry and I have 15" laptop and I think it is ok for me and you can also connect it to big screen or projector.

22"...are you serious? kinda defeats the whole idea of having a laptop if the thing is monster to carry around.

I have a MacBook Pro 17" but with today's current models and the new quad-core i7 the MacBook Pro 15" will not only do you fine but its actually faster than the out-of-the-box bigger screen size current iMac's. Like others have posted, when I need a larger screen for layout spreads I connect my MacBook Pro 17" to a LCD 24" monitor.
