Quark XPress vs Adobe InDesign for Mac OSX

Postby taklamakan » December 26th, 2011, 7:14 pm

Hi,

I am having Mac OSX and I would like to know which publishing software is better/more compatible - Quark XPress or Adobe InDesign. Do you have any thoughts/feedback regarding PDF creating issues, Photoshop/EPS support, etc.

I would like to start learning one of them but heared that there are some differences between these programs, however they look very similar to me

Thanks!!

In theory, they are equivalent - both will be able to accomplish the same standard functions/tasks required for design and layout.

What it usually comes down to is pricing - where I am you can buy a whole Adobe Suite (ID, PS, AI etc) for the price of Quark. They priced themselves out of the market. Mind you, Adobe's being a bit greedy lately...
