Intuos4 (Medium) vs. Intuos5 (Small)

Here are the details:

I know photoshop decently. Planning on getting into Illustrator, InDesign, maybe flash. So I'm still somewhat of a noob as far as Graphic Design/Web goes.

I'm running a 13" MacBook Pro about 3 years old. Likely that I'll be stuck with it for at least another two years, probably longer. (Graduate in 2 years hopefully I can get a new laptop before grad school/job)

Question is should I get the Intuos4 Medium($239) or Intuos5 Small ($229). I'm thinking the small should suffice since my screen is only 13" and it has better pressure points, more buttons etc. But for more or less the same price I can the the medium Intuos4 which will provide me with more editing real estate.
