I ordered my very first iPod today. I got the one that will play videos.
Here's the predicament.
I own a pc at home. I don't plan on buying the powerbook until after the new year, probably around tax time. I work on a mac at work. My job is a 3 month contract at the moment, so I'll only be sure to be on a mac til then. If my next job has a mac then great.
So, basically. I'm trying to figure out the best route to take when formatting my iPod for mac or pc to be able to use it on both hopefully. I 've seen some things about third party software that might work, but xplay2 (one of them) doesn't support video transfer yet.
I bought the newest generation iPod so I'm afraid that the third party software won't be updated soon enough to do that anyway.
So, one option is to format for mac and just use it at work (itunes downloads) and keep it charged on a wall plug at home and I can still use it in my car that way and while I'm walking around.
But, if I want to put any of my music that is on my computer at home (pc) onto it with the music I got from the mac I might have an issue or 40.
Not all of my music will be downloaded from itunes either.
I'm trying to find out what I can do to use it on mac and pc until i get my own mac.
If I format for pc now to use at home and I don't use it at work, will I be able to reformat it for mac later and not lose my music, videos, etc. when I get my own mac?
Someone please help! My iPod will be delivered soon and I want to start using it right away!
