Online furniture shop logo critique

Postby gandarra » September 17th, 2012, 7:59 pm

Hello, Just looking for some feedback on the first round of the attached logo.
The company is Pinnacle Interiors who:
• sell new and used furniture online
• offer fit-out and interior design advice for office spaces
• target market is secretaries working in medium sized offices who want convenient online shopping for office furniture
The client really wants to use green and charcoal but I'm not convinced with the colours. I was thinking either red or blue, more corporate.
Thanks in advance...

I keep trying to find some kind of symbolism or meaning in the subdivided green square with the rounded corner, but I'm drawing a blank. The overall look is clean and nice, but the mark's meaning is ambiguous. I guess it could be office cubicles, but what's the rounded corner?

yes, i was playing with the idea of illustrating a floor plan or office cubicles. i rounded the corner to echo the letter 'n' in Pinnacle. it also forms an abstract 'Pi' if you look really hard. maybe it's trying to be too many things...???

OK, I *** that this was the case, but it's not readily apparent. Maybe that's a problem, but maybe it's not. Without being too literal or hokey, maybe it just needs something to make it a little less ambiguous.

If the bottom right hand square were a different colour/tint (eg a grey) then I could 'see' a P in the two green shapes left, linking it to Pinnacle, and still keeping the cubicle idea / interior space etc.

Actually, I don't mind the green/black - red and blue together are just sooooo overused in the corporate world. Have a look at the competitors' logos and ensure you don't blend in with them. Be brave and stand out!

Hi, looks like a good start. I agree with you that the color scheme probably isn't the best. As for the design, it's clean and modern - just not sure it really says anything about furniture. I would do some more sketching. The design on the left is pretty ambiguous. Right now, no one is going to read it as a P. As someone else suggested, you could try making the shape in the lower right the grey color to make it immediately recognizable as a P.

Looking at your design again, I had a thought that you might want to try to sketch out. The letter P could be the "arm" of a sofa. What if you tried to move P to the left, and then did a reversed P on the Left with the name Pinnacle sitting on the sofa. Just an idea to play around with.

Hope this helps.

This is really very nice online furniture shop logo you create but i want to suggest you that you have to add some image for furniture. You use very nice colour in this logo and font that looks really nice.
