Hi All,

I am looking for ideas and feedback on how to make the logo better. The idea behind a logo is to symbolize a security cameras company named Titan Security Cameras. it will be a ecommerce website.

Thanks.

Hi, looks like a good start. However, I think this design would benefit greatly from more sketching and brainstorming. Here is my (constructive) criticism of the logo you posted...

- The typeface doesn't do anything for you. It's very "old fashioned" and plain looking and the kerning is pretty sloppy. I haven't done any extensive research into this particular field, but I would think that most security camera companies use something very modern and sleek in their logos. Take a few minutes and browse the web to see what other companies in the business are doing with their logos.

- The oversized T that is supposed to represent a security camera doesn't really help the cause either. The proportions and vanishing points are not quite right. Also (and again, I'm saying this without knowing a lot about the security camera business) but I think that most of the newer security cams are rounded or stealthier in their design than the clunky big rectangular type that you portray. I could be wrong but a little time spent researching the competition and sketching some designs might help you decide which way to go with this.

If this is a practice project, I think the design would be better if you spent a little more time sketching and brainstorming. If it's a real design job. talk to the client, find out what they are trying to accomplish, what they want to portray. Also, take a look at the competition, do some sketching and see if you can come up with a better design solution. I'd love to see what else you come up with if you want to post more designs.

Hope this helps.

I wish that I could agree that it's a good start, but I can't. The concept of using a surveillance camera as the basis of a logo for a surveillance camera company is OK, but it's sort of obvious and lacking in creativity. Unfortunately, what you've done isn't working.

First, the camera perspective is way off, and it's, well, just sloppily drawn. I don't know how else to say this, but a poorly drawn, boxy-looking, old-style surveillance camera isn't the basis of a compelling logo. It needs to be better. If it didn't say "Security Cameras" I wouldn't have the slightest idea what the boxy shape with the white line through it was trying to be.

Second, the typography is terrible. It's clunky, and the space between the "i" and the "t" makes it look like you're spelling out Ti tan (two words). The italic words, Security Cameras, introduce an unnecessary extra angle into the whole thing (as in why slanted type).

Honestly, if it were me, I'd get out a pencil and paper, then start sketching out several dozen different ideas. :|

Have to agree with above comments. The icon does not work, i didn't recognise it as a camera. And the typography is sloppy and not apprioriate for the subject. So keep working on it, don't be discouraged by the criticism but use it for your advantage! You'll get there! :)

I would say your solution is pretty literal. Make go beyond that a bit in brainstorming. What iconic images to you get when you think of being watched maybe. The type isn't working, so explore that some more maybe.
