Help with typography on this postcard?

Postby ukballer1012 » November 23rd, 2012, 5:50 pm

I recently started freelancing in both web and graphic design and I currently am in the process of making a 4x6 postcard (the image below) to advertise to local businesses. I haven't really had to deal too much with typography until now and I could use some advice from people who have been doing this for quite some time. I'm not close to being done and this is proofed for print so please bear with me. I want to fill up about 70% of that box, outlined in red, with text a bit smaller than the text I'll use for the 'header.' I mainly just want to showcase what I have to offer. I could use some help with choosing the right font(s), layout, and color(s) to use. I'm trying to give the card an elegant, modern look to it that is consistent with the logo. I've spent a good two hours trying to make something work which I why I came here. Obviously I'm not asking you to design the card but instead am asking for you to point me in the right direction or maybe suggest some fonts, examples, and etc so that I can get the right idea and work my way from there. Thank you in advance.

I really only need suggestions for what color to use (excluding the blue in the logo) and how to make it work with the black background.
