Out of the 155 individuals who have won AIGA medals since 1920, can you name the 24 that have created postage stamp designs? Thanks to a new book from Kat Ran Press, “Postage Stamps by AIGA Medalists,” you won’t have to guess who has checked this honor off their professional bucket list.
In 24 pages, readers will find 76 full-color illustrations of “every known stamp designed by an AIGA Medalist.” The one exception to this tagline is Bradbury Thompson, who designed more than 100 stamps. Other recognizable designers include Seymour Chwast, Milton Glaser and April Greiman. An essay from Michael Russem drives home the importance of these stamp designs to graphic designers today.

Two of the stamp designers, Ivan Chermayeff and Thomas Geismar, are also known for their impressive logo designs. If you’d like to be known for your prowess in designing the latter, check out the Strategic Logo Design Ultimate Collection from My Design Shop.
