An Image a Day

Corbis has teamed up with noted designer Kit Hinrichs of Studio Hinrichs to showcase the breadth of its image collection. For the 24|7|365 project, Hinrichs selected one image that correlates in some way to each day, creating a visual calendar. HOW subscribers will find a poster that Hinrich designed for the project in their copy of the March issue—if you don’t subscribe (and trust us, you should!), you can visit the 24|7|365 website to request a free copy. There’s also a downloadable screensaver that creates a rotating slideshow of images from the project when your computer goes into sleep mode.

The image for today is a shot by photographer Jim Sugar from 1975, called “Wheels of the Memnon”—fitting, because the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad was founded on February 28, 1827.
