Sappi Fine Paper is hosting a road show that pairs noted designer Kit Hinrichs with folding maven Trish Witkowski of FoldFactory.com, in support of Sappi’s new educational tool “The Standard 4: Scoring & Folding.” The two are showing off all kinds of cool ways to fold and manipulate paper in these free sessions. Portfolio Center has set a date for its annual Portfolio Review in New York City to introduce the school’s latest graduates to the design community in the city. If you’re looking for new talent for your firm, mark your calendar for Friday, October 29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Salt Space on Broadway.

German photo agency plainpicture has established a U.S. presence with a new website and an office in NYC. The plainpicture photo library includes more than 225,000 images suited for editorial, book publishing, advertising and music projects.

Visual Connections is hosting an image expo in New York City on Wednesday, October 13; the event matches photo buyers with photographers and image agencies from around the globe. A series of educational sessions will cover topics of interest to image buyers, including rights, licensing and custom vs. stock imagery.

Photolibrary.com updated its website, with a new drag-and-drop feature for creating lightboxes, an advanced search and a new function that searches for similar images.

Neenah Paper took home top honors in the 24th annual International ARC Awards for annual reports, for its 2009 report. “What We Believe” was designed by Addison of New York City; the competition recognizes design, content and financial presentation.
