Great Business Minds Think Alike

The worlds of business and design intersect in two ways: where design thinking can influence business success, and where business skills can help a designer successfully manage her creative studio. One is externally focused, the other internally.

Design and business will come together big-time in New York City this October, when HOW’s Mind Your Own Business Conference and Gain: AIGA Design and Business Conference take place at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers. MYOB runs October 12–14, and Gain runs October 14–16.

Learn more about the MYOB program, featuring speakers including David C. Baker, Bo Burlingham and Scott Belsky, here. What’s Gain all about? It unites provocative thinkers from a wide range of disciplines to inspire and reinvigorate. You’ll learn how business, design and thought leaders addressed business challenges through design—and how they reinvented their businesses, their strategies and themselves.

You’ll hear what industry leaders like RISD president John Maeda, The 99 creator Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa and former Microsoft chief experience officer J Allard have to say about recharging businesses and brands. In case studies and conversations with Gain moderator Paola Antonelli, MoMA architecture and design senior curator, design’s brightest minds will share ways to help reinvent the way you think about business, strategy and even yourself.

HOW and AIGA are partnering to offer discounted rates if you participate in both events. MYOB attendees can add the Gain: AIGA Design and Business Conference to their registration for just $850, a savings of nearly 30 percent off Gain’s regular full-conference rate.
