Redesign: Valentine’s Day

As if we needed yet another reason to think the graphic design duo Armin Vit and Bryony Gomez-Palacio were freaking brilliant … They’ve taken up the gauntlet tossed by Kurt Andersen of the public radio show Studio 360 and redesigned Valentine’s Day. (You may recall that Pentagram redesigned Christmas a couple of years back.) Recently, Studio 360 asked listeners to submit their Valentine redesigns to be judged by author Elisabeth Gilbert (of “Eat Pray Love” fame). Vit and Gomez-Palacio contributed a professional overhaul of the VD brand, complete with a new icon, color palette, mascots and rituals.

Go to the duo’s websiteUnderConsideration to read the full creative brief and see the results. And you can download the new icon (for any noncommercial use) here.
