Letterpress Printing Site Going Strong

A few weeks ago, we wrote about the launch of the community-based website, The Beauty of Letterpress, that showcases various artist’s letterpress printing work. Since then, The Beauty of Letterpress has been going strong as many artists from around the world have uploaded images of their gorgeous letterpress work. From the “Love for Sale” tags to the plantable cards, it’s quite an impressive showcase.

We’re also excited that The Beauty of Letterpress just released limited edition prints of Issue 2: Printing You Can Feel. This print, designed and printed by Studio Fire, has a secret message that is only revealed when you angle the paper. I’m intrigued.

And Issue 2 prints are available for $5 a print. As we explained in an earlier post, Neenah Paper is helping to raise money to help the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum move to another location and to preserve this piece of letterpress history by matching the amount brought in from these prints.

You can donate to the cause by purchasing an Issue 2 print, and Neenah Paper will donate $10 to Hamilton. So far, they’ve raised $14,000 for the printing museum. You can get a neat, limited edition letterpress print and feel good about supporting letterpress.

If you’re a site user, you can favorite, pin, and share the work that inspires you. I’ll be keeping tabs on the artwork featured on The Beauty of Letterpress (sponsored by Neenah Paper featuring Crane Papers and created by Two Paperdolls Letterpress and Design House).

Don’t have letterpress work to show off? Then, submit your in-house design work by June 3rd to the 2013 In-HOWse Design Awards. Winning work will be featured in the January 2014 issue of HOW.
