Events next week at Parsons the New School in NYC: Building Energy Positive, an exhibition that investigates new frontiers in solar power and sustainable design, runs January 25 to 31. Noted architecture critic Paul Goldberger chats with graphic designer Scott Stowell on the 28th.

We’re intrigued by Jonathan Barnbrook’s new font, Priori Acute, which is available from Emigre. The 3D letterforms have an Escher-esque shift in perspective that becomes more evident at larger sizes, when the letters contort in an eye-catching way. Priori Acute would be a clever choice for initial caps on the text pages of a mystery novel.

Noted book designer and Pennsylvania native Chip Kidd returns to his roots with a lecture at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Lancaster, PA, on February 4. The newly formed Society of Design is hosting.

Veer has released a number of exclusive typeface designs for 2010, including Alejandro Paul’s oh-so-lovely Business Penmanship (below). Other new releases include Jason Walcott’s nonconnecting script, Laguna Beach, and stylized Martian Text; coming in February are Rian Hughes’s Paralucent Text and Stefan Hattenbach’s Caslon revival, Replay.

Cleveland-based printer Jakprints now offers EcoGreen Stickers, an eco-conscious alternative to traditional adhesive papers. The stickers are printed on proprietary TruStick stock.

Domtar is promoting its updated uncoated printing paper brands–Cougar, Lynx Opaque Ultra and Husky Opaque Offset–with a new postcard campaign.

Quark released an iPhone/iTouch app to support its project-sharing site for designers, ILoveDesign.com. Users can access their accounts from their mobile devices, share projects and browse the gallery.
