Iconic designer and branding guru Debbie Millman is perhaps one of the best known designers in the industry sharing the stage with the likes of Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister, Milton Glaser, Seymour Chwast, and more. Her role as the President of Design at Sterling Brands has overseen the branding and rebranding of major companies around the world and many here at home like Pepsi, Gillette, Colgate, Kimberly-Clark, Nestle, and Campbells. In addition to her branding work Millman also hosts the Design Observer podcast Design Matters and is a contributing editor to Print.
However one of Debbie’s true passions are her illustrated essays. These essays capture the essence of her life experiences in pieces that almost anyone can relate to. Some are funny, some are sad, some are inspiring, but they all share a wonderful voice and beautiful design. Coming off her recent success with her new book, Self-Portrait As Your Traitor, Debbie is back at it again with a new collection of products based off her essays entitled Word Play, which is a series of Notecards, as well as MiniCards, captured from her essays. These new Notecards and Minicards, produced for The Luxe Project by MOO, showcase the writing and design of Millman’s work while allowing you to drop a note to express your appreciation, provide encouragement, or just say “Hi!” to your friends, family, and coworkers. And what’s more is that 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this collection go to the Joyful Heart Foundation, a charity aimed at heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Take a look at more of her collection below and consider dropping a note to someone whose had an influence on your life and give back at the same time — nothing means more than a handwritten note!
