HOW Magazine Staff
Bryn Mooth, Editor
Bryn isn't a graphic designer, and only occasionally pretends to
be one. Nonetheless, she's keen on classical typography and
she's a sucker for letterpress printing. Bryn's involvement with
HOW magazine spans more than a decade. During that time,
she has written about design and the business of design,
organized and judged design competitions and spoken at
various professional events, including HOW's Design
Conference and MYOB Conference, and AIGA chapter events.
When she's not running the asylum at HOW, Bryn enjoys wine,
gardening, cooking and golf.

Bridgid McCarren, Art Director
Since her days as a visual communication design major at the
University of Dayton, Bridgid McCarren has drooled over the
pages of HOW. In her role as art director, Bridgid is
responsible for design, layout and photography/illustration
direction. Additionally, she's involved in HOW's many
competitions and conferences. Before joining HOW,
Bridgid designed four regional magazines in Cincinnati.
She also served as fashion editor, writer and photo stylist.
Off hours, you can probably find her pounding the pavement
in preparing for the next Flying Pig Marathon; volunteering
for fair trade practices and supporting her friends.

Sarah Morton Whitman, Managing Editor
Sarah Whitman has been with the HOW team since January
1998 and has served as managing editor since 2000. In
addition to her magazine and website duties, Sarah serves as
program planner for the HOW Design Conference and
coordinator of HOW's International Design Competition.
Sarah keeps things tidy and organized around the HOW
office and at home. She enjoys cooking vegetarian cuisine
with her husband Kevin. She also adores animals, especially
her cats, Kenzie and Tosh, and her dog, Gilmore. Sarah
fell in love with Paris and Italy on her honeymoon.

Megan Lane Patrick, Senior Editor
Megan Patrick, HOW's senior editor, joined the staff in November
1999 after patiently biding her time editing photography titles
in the book division of HOW's parent company. When she's not
scouring the web for great designers, Megan writes articles for
the magazine and finds new sites to post on HOW's Links page.
Away from the office, you'll often find her making things in her
"hobby room," but don't stop by. It's way too messy for visitors.

Jessica Kuhn, Associate Editor
Journalism has been a vehicle that has driven Jessica to become immersed in topics never imagined, from carnivorous plants and haunted houses to theater, politics and football. She is now ready for uncharted territory: Graphic Design. The Ohio University alumna will manage the Creativity, Career and Workspace columns in every issue of HOW. She loves dreaming about the next stamp in her passport, boating, appetizers, flower arranging and scuba diving (a new one on the list). As for the 2009 HOW Design Conference in Austin, TX, she is already shopping for a Stetson to sport at her first HOW event.
