The enemy of the best is the good. If you’re always settling with what’s good, you’ll never be the best.
― Jerry Rice
Did you know that Jerry Rice, arguably the best wide receiver in NFL history, played his last professional game for the Seattle Seahawks and in 2004 after signing a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos decided to retire in preseason? It’s true; the Niners legend caught a 27-yard touch down pass for the Seahawks and had a very brief “orange crush” before officially retiring in 2006 with the 49ers.
Jerry Rice honestly knows something about being the very best. If Rice’s quote isn’t enough to inspire you, maybe the six in-house teams that are planning to make big plays on Super Bowl Sunday with their clever commercials will do the trick. Will their spots be some of the best developed or will they just be considered good? You be the judge along with all the millions tuning in on Sunday. Now, let the advertising games begin!
