I Resolve In-house Style

.

.

This will probably go the way of my resolution to lose 15 pounds by June but here goes…

.

.

.

My in-house New Years resolutions:

.

  1. Finish my monthly expense reports on time
  2. Actually look at my to-do list once I’ve created it
  3. Take my least favorite client to lunch
  4. Take my least favorite direct to lunch
  5. Take my least favorite IT colleague to lunch (well, maybe the whole department)
  6. Be patient with the next Help Desk representative I have to speak with
  7. Walk out of the next meeting that’s truly a waste of my time
  8. Learn how to use formulas in Excel
  9. Start reading my emails in order of importance – not by when they were sent
  10. Archive my old emails – by topic (not happening)
  11. Forgive Communication Arts for all but completely ignoring the in-house community
  12. Complain to Facilities about the smelly bathroom on the second floor
  13. Complain to Food Service about the 1:30 close time at the cafeteria
  14. Complain to Security about mandated training on how to wear protective goggles in labs (which I never visit)
  15. Set up Softphone so my calls will be forwarded to my laptop (uh, on second thought – maybe not)
  16. Take all my compliance training on time (actually just taking it at all would be a breakthrough)
  17. Get to meetings on time (well at least for the first week of January)
  18. Be okay with taking a mental health day
  19. Have compassion for my clients who are overworked, understaffed and overwhelmed
  20. Tell my team how much I respect and admire them
