Being a bit of a trend lover I can’t help pay attention to such things. This mini website from Valspar (the paint company) is a perfect example. Yes, the site fits in with the current trends in web design: it employs responsive web design techniques, animation and—naturally—vivid solid colors. And yet, I don’t feel like I am looking at yet another ‘me-too’ design.
Never take a trend at face value. If you’re going to use it, bend it to your needs, merge it with trends of the past, and add your unique twist. Your website design will stand out, yet fit in. On this website, the smooth interactions and animations give it that extra awesome sauce it needs to feel fresh and new.
