Design Job: User Experience Designer at Adobe

  • Well versed in fundamental interaction and visual design disciplines and principles.
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to deliver reasoned critique and be comfortable accepting same gracefully.
  • Must be an organized, patient, motivated self-starter with a deep desire to succeed within a large company of similarly strong minded, talented individuals.

Must have:

  • Motion prototyping ability: HTML, Javascript, JQuery, for rapid test-and-learn prototyping of iOS apps.
  • Experience design skill for creating elegantly usable experiences; understanding of how experience design works in harmony with visual design.
  • Nuanced visual design skill, with the ability to adapt and extend existing visual languages.
  • Experience creating visually compelling, experientially effective interactive user experiences for software applications and mobile/tablet apps.
  • Deep knowledge of Adobe tools, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks; must be expert in at least one.
  • A passion and exceptional eye for detail.
  • Ability to clearly articulate rationale for design decisions, in writing, in pixels, and verbally.
  • Ability to innovate when needed; identify and leverage appropriate conventional solutions when needed; and the wisdom to know the difference 🙂
  • Ability to work in stressful situations without becoming stressed.
  • Ability to work successfully with individuals across multiple disciplines including design, engineering, marketing, branding, upper management, and more.
  • Ability to work onsite at our San Francisco design studio, shoulder-to-shoulder with other designers.
  • Ability to travel periodically as needed to our San Jose or other Adobe offices worldwide.
  • Ongoing awareness of trends and state of play, in the software industry generally and in the UI design profession specifically.
