Site of the Day: Easy Readers

For a great demonstration of design not driving a layout for the purpose of creativity, check out the mini site for the book Adaptive Web Design by Aaron Gustafson. This simple site is not only gorgeous but brilliantly laid out. In the first screen view we get all the critical information as well as an enticing call to action; from there the page flows down through a series of additional sales tools. I love that as the page goes on each element is less important—the elements are ordered in the most logical and powerful way. It’s also interesting how the density increases as the influence decreases. A tweet from a happy reader is nice, but 20 tweets from many happy people is far better.
