The other day, I showed you an excellent example of how some e-commerce sites are throwing out the playbook and trying some fresh and new ideas in website design. Let’s acknowledge, though, that not every brand or company can take such risks with their online presence. When I ran across the online shop for Onitsuka Tiger (a Japanese brand of shoes, apparel and accessories) I thought it was a nice contrast. Many aspect of this e-commerce website play into the norms, such as the grid of products. But so many other aspects push the boundaries and challenge convention. Granted this is not a true e-commerce site, but a product site pointing to other vendors to complete the sale. If anything, this website’s great product and lifestyle photography will make you ever so jealous.
