See You in Austin: I’m off to SXSW Interactive

south by southwest interactive craft maker campIt’s every nerd’s dream to go to SXSW Interactive. But to actually be part of the program, too? Unbelievable.

I am super stoked to be speaking on some panels at the CraftCamp at SXSW Interactive! It’s aimed at crafters and makers, but the discussions will be interesting to any creative entrepreneur. The schedule is still being finalized, but here’s an overview of what’ll be going on:

  • Sessions on how to be more productive, price your work, design and print fabric, and get more publicity
  • Advice on getting capital for your business and dealing with taxes
  • A panel discussion on what discount sites mean for the handmade community
  • And happy hours with free beer each day!

We’ll be getting crafty on Sunday, March 11, and Monday, March 12, in the Presentation Tent of Palm Park. You can add it to your Facebook calendar here.

Aside from that, I’m excited to be going to SXSW for the first time and hobnobbing with all sorts of awesome interactive people in the meatspace. Blogging may be sporadic here while I’m out, but you can follow my adventures over the next week at @gracedobushtogo

I hope if you’re already coming to SXSW, you’ll stop by and check out CraftCamp and say hello! (FYI: If you haven’t already registered, SXSW badges are still available, but hotels in Austin are totally sold out.)
