Illustration: A Smart Web Design Strategy

If I have said it once, I have said it a hundred times: Illustration is by far one of the most powerful tools in a web designer’s toolbox. Anytime you bother to create a custom illustration you inevitably end up with something unique. I appreciate how this contrasts with the flat UI design.

Simple as Milk, Design Studio

In fact, this design firm’s site relies heavily on the flat approach. And were it not for the illustrations the site would blend in and be rather forgettable. The illustrations give it personal, stylized look and feel that leaves a lasting impression. Another huge upside to this site is their brilliant portfolio. This firm produces incredible work, so the site seems like an understatement to their exceptional design skills.
