I admit when I first saw Balsamiq Mockups, my reaction was, “For the love of God, COMIC SANS?” But it turns out the I-designed-this-in-Word look is the whole point of the tool—it serves up “a look no-one is afraid to criticize”:
wireframes created with Mockups are intentionally rough and low-fidelity. The idea is to encourage as much feedback as possible…no-one will think you’ll be offended by their input, they’ll know immediately that you just ‘threw it together’ quickly.
Smart! Who hasn’t had a client think that, horrors!, your stylish wireframe sketch is how the site will actually look? Take Balsamiq Mockups for a test drive here.
