Jean-Maxime Brais: Engaging Portfolio Website

Sometimes a website design is so unusual and compelling, it’s hard to describe, and even harder to break down for some useful nugget. For many reasons, the portfolio website for Quebec-based art director and graphic designer Jean-Maxime Brais is insanely inspiring. For a moment you forget we’re dealing with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Instead, as you mouse over the home page, you feel immersed in the Brais’s work and enticed to click and explore in a way that few designs actually achieve.

This designer went out on a limb with something radically different—and in my book, the results are a huge win for innovation. Approach this one with caution: Viewing it will result in a sour mood as you contemplate your boring, old portfolio site.
