Great website designs like this one can be really misleading. When a site looks so custom and cool, fills the screen perfectly and incorporates many smooth animations and transitions, it starts to feel really slick. Which might make other web designers think that it’s easy to create a site like this.
I would argue that the Lincoln’s Land site is extremely hard to pull off, and that it’s actually even more of a success as a result. It’s gorgeous, edgy, atypical and yet so simple to use.
