Minimalism is nothing new in website design. Yet most web designers seem to use minimalism as a conceptual starting point but don’t truly adhere to the philosophy. That’s what makes Plover unique. The website is minimal to the extreme, yet it feels totally fresh and memorable—and that distinctiveness is hard to pull off when you’re trying to keep a web design simple. What really makes this an excellent web design example, though, is that the product—an online portfolio and sales tool for professional photographers—is just as beautiful and simple in its design as the website that promotes it.
